ITINERARY FOR UMBWE ROUTE 6 DAYS CLIMB:

6 DAYS ON TREK & 2 NIGHTS IN ARUSHA.

Short Description: Embark on Kilimanjaro Summit - Umbwe Route - 6 Days: Conquer the Majestic Kilimanjaro via Umbwe, A Thrilling Ascent & Unforgettable Summit Experience Awaits.

Day 1 - Arrival in Arusha:

Met at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha, where our driver will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your base hotel in Arusha. Relax and enjoy a delicious dinner, followed by an overnight stay at Lake Duluti Lodge.

Day 2 - Trek Begins - Bivouac No. 1 Camp:

At 7 a.m, our driver will take you to the Umbwe Gate to start your trek. Begin your adventure with a 5 to 7-hour walk through the forest along a narrow ridge between the Lonzo and Umbwe rivers until you reach the first Camp (3000mts). Enjoy a hot dinner and overnight stay at Bivouac No. 1 Campsite.

Day 3- Trek to Barranco Camp:

Early in the morning, set out for Barranco Camp (3900mts), a 5 to 6-hour trek through heather and open moorland. Marvel at the scenic beauty along the way. Relish a hot dinner and overnight stay at Barranco Campsite.

Day 4- Acclimatization Day at Karanga Valley:

After breakfast, trek to Karanga Valley Camp (3950mts), a walk of 3 to 4 hours by crossing the floor of the great Barranco wall to the Karanga river. This extra day is essential for acclimatization, ensuring a successful summit climb, Enjoy a hot dinner and overnight stay at Karanga Valley Campsite.

Day 5-Trek to Barafu Camp:

Leave Karanga Valley Camp for Barafu Camp (4600mts) by crossing the Karanga river, the last water point on this route. The trek today involves gaining elevation and further acclimatization for the midnight summit climb. Enjoy a hot dinner and overnight stay at Barafu Campsite.

Day 6- Summit Uhuru Peak - Descend to Mweka:

This is the day you've been waiting for! With an early start around 12 a.m, leave Barafu Camp for the summit - Uhuru Peak - the highest point in Africa at 5896 mts. Trek for 6 to 7 hours via Stella Point and arrive at a breathtaking sunrise view over Kilimanjaro. After a short rest and capturing unforgettable moments, descend to Mweka Campsite (3000 mts) for 5 to 7 hours via Barafu Campsite. Relish a hot dinner and overnight stay at Mweka Campsite.

Day 7 - Final Descent and Return to Moshi:

After an early breakfast, descend for 3 to 4 hours to the Mweka gate. Our driver will transfer you to your base hotel in Arusha. Celebrate your achievement with a sumptuous dinner and overnight stay at Lake Duluti Lodge.

Day 8 - Farewell or Extended Adventures:

Bid farewell to the remarkable Kilimanjaro adventure. We'll transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha airport for your onward journey.

The price includes:

- Ground transfers with pick-up and drop-off from Arusha or JRO to from base Hotel in Moshi

- Transport from Moshi to the Mountain gate.

- 2 Nights hotel in Arusha HB (B/A the climb) in either Dik Dik Hotel, Meru View Lodge, River trees Country Inn OR Lake Duluti Lodge depending on availability.

The price does not include:

- Items of a personal nature.

Other beverages apart from fruit juices and mineral water given on the first day of the climb and boiled water given during the climb.

- Other equipment on the mountain. (other than tents, camping table and chairs). (Mountain gear) An additional SRS will apply for Single tent on Camping routes

- Hotels:

We book rooms with one of the above-mentioned Hotels (based on availability) on the basis of two persons sharing a double room. However, single room cannot be guaranteed, especially in the game lodges. The choice of hotels or lodges can change due to their availability in high or low season.

- Liability and risks:

The company and its agents act only as agent of agents in all matters relating to tours and shall not be liable for injury, death. delay, loss, damage, illness or weather conditions for a cause in any manner.

The company's liability carried in the vehicle is governed by the respective laws of the country and all claims are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the country.

The company reserves the right to sub contract all or any part of the services agreed to be supplied.

The company cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to baggage or equipment.

The company draws your attention to the fact that there are certain inherent risks present when on safari, or when engaging in any strenuous physical activity. It is your sole responsibility to obtain appropriate medical advice as to medication, immunization, and whether or not you are fit enough to undertake the trip, prior to departure.

- Terms of business:

The payment for the entire cost is supposed to be paid in our bank account 35 days before the arrival of the clients. This will ensure smooth payment of Park fees and other arrangements.

The rates shall include taxes at the prevailing rates. The rates will increase automatically without notification should the prevailing rates of tax increase or should another tax or levy be introduced during the duration of this agreement.

- Alteration of tours:

The right is reserved to change any arrangements should conditions so necessitate.

Force majeure:

Force Majeure " means, in relation to the company, any circumstances beyond the control of the company (including and without limitation, acts of God, explosions, floods, tempests, fires, accidents, war or threat of war, sabotage, insurrection, civil disturbance or requisition, sickness, quarantine, government intervention, weather conditions or other outwards occurrences).

If the company is affected by force majeure, it shall forthwith notify you of the nature and extent thereof.

The company shall not be deemed to be in breach of these items and conditions or otherwise be liable to you, by reason of delay in performance, or by non-performance, of any of its obligations hereunder to the extent that any such delay or nonperformance is due to any force majeure.

If the company is affected by force majeure, it shall be entitled to, and may at its sole and absolute discretion, vary or cancel any reservations or cancel any reservation or arrangement in relation to the visits. Payment of any refund by the company to you as result of the non-performance of any company shall use its reasonable endeavors to reimburse you where possible. However, the company shall be entitled to deduct from any refund recoverable to the reasonable actual and potential costs to the company of the force majeure.

- Valid travel insurance:

We strongly recommend that all clients take out travel comprehensive insurance when making a booking. We recommend that insurance covers loss of deposit and other monies through cancellation, loss or damage to personal baggage and loss of money, medical expenses, additional expenses to cover hotel accommodation and repatriation costs to their home country

Should any services need to be extended or curtailed due to illness or other insurable risk. Please note that restrictions on the time to effect insurance applies to some services such as airfares.

- Cancellation and refund:

In the event of cancellation or amendments, a minimum charge to cover expenses incurred as well as cancellation fees chargeable at the lodges will be made if cancellation is received less than 30 days before the commencement of the tour.

Refund will not be provided if parts of the service/ climb are not utilized.

Cancellation during the climb, the client will not receive any refund on not used service. If the client has to be brought down to Moshi for injuries and does not complete the climb, refund will not be made to the unused services/climb.

Any extra cost will be barred by the client.

Baggage:

Your personal baggage limit is 12 kg per person for the climb.
